Jetse Jelsma is sinds 21 juli 2025 werkzaam als Orthopedisch Chirurg in het Maastricht UMC+. Hij is opgeleid tot orthopedisch chirurg in de regio zuid (MUMC, Zuyderland, MMC), Nadien fellowships (subspecialisaties) op het gebied van trauma, heup/knieprothesiologie en infectie gedaan in Bristol, Verenigd Koninkrijk, het Zuyderland MC, Sittard-Geleen en Sint Maartenskliniek te Nijmegen. Gepromoveerd op metal-on-metal heup prothesiologie aan Maastricht University in 2022 (promotor: prof. I.C. Heyligers).
